sadly these were all during my freshman year. Since then I've been injured so I'm just trying to make my way back.

Short-Term Running Goals:

-Shin splints seem to be unavoidable but I'm hoping to be able to finish this year without having them turn into stressed fractures.

-I need to learn to be patient with building my mileage slowly. This may seem like a lame goal but this is my biggest problem. I wish I could just run!

Long-Term Running Goals:

One of these days I'm going to run a marathon and possibly an iron man... some day (:

Personal:

I'm a senior in high school and I love running mucho grande! XC is the bomb and Track.. well it's a way to pass time, and keep me in shape. I also love soccer, and I'm slightly obsessed with dancing. I have the best family ever, and great friends. I hope to graduate and go to SUU.  I also love going to the lake, river, pool... anything that involves swimming. I like to hang out with friends and basically just keep busy.

My shins aren't hurting too bad but I can tell that they're building up to it. I'm begining to think that an ice bath is in order... I shall try to survive.

I had a really good run today. I rolled my IT band out all weekend so it didn't hurt till the last mile and even then it was bearable. It was a team run today too so that made it fun. We ran the Maverick loop backwards.

Good job leading that group. I think you can keep that 2nd group at a solid honest pace and together as a group so we can eventually bridge the gap to the 1st group.

My leg didn't even hurt till after I finished running, and I got a runners high. && IT RAINED!!! (: when all is said and done it's days like these that help remind me why I run. (:

Evening run was good. super hot though! I think my sweat could have filled 7 gallon buckets! yeah.. that's gross. && We did weights afterwards (:  loovee weights (:  hopefully I'm sore tomorrow.

Saw your post to Tomy, he runs at East. Ruth Hilton from your school ran a couple times when she was up in salt lake with us during the summer before her senior year. As an XC coach I welcome anyone who wants to come run with our group, it is an open invitation to anyone. So if you or any of your team mates are up north and need a run and don't want to go alone. Let us know, we run 6 days a week usually.

Friday run so we left base! We ran from Vernin Worthin park, and out by the freeway. It was a great run. Kaylee and I were feeling good today so we ran ahead. I hadn't seen her for like a week so we had our wonderful story time! My IT band hardly hurt at all, and I didn't even feel my shin splints. My muscles are all really tight so I'm thinkin an ice bath is in order :/ Hopefully I survive.
We had a captains meeting after practice and lets just say that Camp is gonna be AWESOME this year! (: be excited!

I have to work today so I won't have time for an afternoon run, but I think I might try to throw in a midnight run!

I ran 5 miles out into coral canyon today. We had to go over Coral Canyon hill and it almost killed me off. I'm usually really good at hills but that hill is murder! Anyway, I ran really hard with Coach, Kaylee, and Josh on the way there, and once we got to the top of the hill I stopped and waited for the rest of the girls team so we could all run back together. It was kinda slow but it was good for all of us to bond as a team. Megan is such an incredible person to run with. She would drop back and then come right back with us when I asked her to. She wants it more than anyone, so she's sure to get it. Once we got back from our run we did a mile of striders. I loveee striders! (: My legs were feeling fine today. they're still sore but that's just cause I've been packing on a lot of mileage lately. I just gotta keep icing, stretching, and rolling. (:

MORNING RUN: I had a pretty good run today. We ran 6 miles with a mile of tempo at about the 4th mile. I forgot my IT band strap so I ran without it today and it hardly hurt at all! I'M HEALINGG!!! (: (: (: I've been icing, stretching, and rolling a TON and I can feel it helping me. Anyway, we had a team run today so I ran with the team until we hit the tempo part, then I broke off with Kaylee, Nikki, and Zack. We hit 3 sections of sprinklers today!!! It was great cause I prolly woulda died of heat stroke otherwise.

Kay, coach Roberts was disappointed in me for not putting up a thought of the day yesterday so I have to put up two today.

Today's run was GREATT!!! You know that huge mountain type thing out in Bloomington that you want to die just looking at (Web Hill)??? yeah.. well we ran up and over that thing than back up again! WHAT UPP!?! Anyway, I ran with coach roberts on the way there and once we started heading back down the hill the last time he dared me to run with Devin back up the hill for a little ways. So I headed back up. We freakin owned that hill! Then we waited at the top for coach and Curls. (:  it was super fun running with the guys, and it was good to push myself. Nothing hurt and I felt great! This run made me realize all over again that you only get out of it what you put into it. I've always known that, but this run just proved it big time.
